The walkthrough

The yard looks fine.
Then it warms up.

Synthetic turf on a play yard takes everything a group of four-year-olds brings to it. Juice, snacks, mud, and whatever the class pet left behind. None of it stays on the fiber. It runs down the blade, into the infill, and settles there.

A hose pushes it deeper. The surface looks right for the morning inspection, and then the afternoon sun comes up and a parent at pickup asks what the smell is. That question is the one directors remember.

The other problem is what most centers reach for. Diluted bleach is the protocol many staff were trained on, and on turf it means fumes in an enclosed play yard plus fiber and backing wear you paid a contractor to install. Ammonia products are their own problem, and every childcare staff training covers why the two must never meet.

What a play yard needs on the regular schedule is something different: a cleaner and deodorizer that gets past the fiber, handles what soaked in, and leaves nothing behind that draws dirt back or lingers in the air.

Who we are

Turf specialists,
not a general cleaner

OxyTurf makes one thing: cleaners built for synthetic turf surfaces. Not an all-purpose product with a turf label, a formula designed around how infill holds what soaks in. The company started in 2021 out of a synthetic turf installation business, so the problem was ours before it was a product.

Since then the brand has grown from a regional fix into a national line, and its founder is a member of the Synthetic Turf Council. We co-brand with SYNLawn and we manufacture private-label turf cleaners for other names in the category, including K9 Klean by ForeverLawn.

We also run OxyTurf Labs, our hygiene testing division using ATP surface verification, the same measurement used in food service. Synthetic turf has no cleanliness standard today. Your kitchen has one. Your diaper station has one. Your play yard does not. We think it should, and we are building the methodology to measure it.

OxyTurf is a cleaner and deodorizer, not a disinfectant, and we will never ask you to change a protocol your license depends on. Keep doing exactly what your state requires, where it requires it. We are the regular cleaning and deodorizing step in between, the one your posted schedule already calls for.

The chemistry

Oxygen,
not enzymes

Enzyme cleaners work on the clock. They need the right temperature, the right dwell, and hours a play yard schedule does not have. Cold morning, cool product, slow result, and the two-year-olds go out at nine.

OxyTurf is built on enhanced hydrogen peroxide. It oxidizes. It foams as it works, so staff can see coverage in real time instead of guessing, and it carries down through the fiber into the infill instead of sheeting off the top.

Then it goes away. The peroxide breaks down into oxygen and water in about 10 minutes. Spray, let it dwell, and once the foam subsides the area is ready for the kids again. No bleach. No ammonia. No acid. No rinse needed on a maintenance pass, so a staff member can walk the yard before drop-off and be done. On a deep clean, follow with a hose to drive it through every layer.

It comes scented or unscented, because in a building full of kids someone always reacts to fragrance. It is safe for use around kids and pets when used as directed.

Spec sheet

Built for licensed playground surfacing

  • Fits your posted cleaning schedule

Turf cleaning is a regular-cleaning task, not a disinfection task. A maintenance pass needs no rinse and no mixing, so it slots into the schedule you already post and log with staff initials.

  • Supports your licensing walkthrough and cleaning log

Current safety data for your binder plus a one-page plain-language summary of what the product is and is not, written for an inspector to read, so you are never improvising during a walkthrough.

  • No bleach, no ammonia, no acid

Nothing your staff has been trained to keep apart, and no bleach fumes in an enclosed play yard. Nothing accumulates in the infill over repeat applications.

  • 10 minutes to re-entry

Spray, dwell about 10 minutes, and once the foam subsides the area is ready for kids again. The peroxide breaks down into oxygen and water.

  • Unscented option

Scented and unscented both ship. Centers with fragrance-sensitive kids or staff usually take unscented.

  • Sizes that match your yard

32 oz sprayers for spot work, gallons and cases for the janitorial closet, 5-gallon pails and bulk pricing for multi-site operators. A typical 2,000 sq ft play yard is about four gallons on a full pass.

Questions directors ask

What can you use to clean playground turf at a daycare?

OxyTurf is an oxygen-powered cleaner and deodorizer built specifically for synthetic turf. It uses enhanced hydrogen peroxide to reach the infill where odor lives, then breaks down into oxygen and water in about 10 minutes. It is a regular cleaning and deodorizing product, not a disinfectant, and it ships from 32 oz sprayers up to 5-gallon pails with pricing for centers, franchises, churches, and schools.

Is OxyTurf a disinfectant for playground surfaces?

OxyTurf is a cleaner and deodorizer, and it does not replace a required protocol. Where your state licensing requires a specific disinfection protocol, keep running it exactly as written. OxyTurf is the regular cleaning step your posted schedule calls for on the turf itself, which is where most centers have no good option today.

Is OxyTurf safe for kids on playground turf?

It is safe for use around kids and pets when used as directed. Apply it with the yard clear, let it dwell about 10 minutes, and once the foam subsides the area is ready. There is no bleach, no ammonia, and no acid, and the peroxide breaks down into oxygen and water, so nothing is left behind in the infill to build up over repeat applications. Read and follow the label.

Can I get an SDS for my licensing binder?

Yes. Current safety documentation is available on request through the form, and our safety data page is public. If you need it on letterhead for an inspection file, say so and we will send it.

Do you have an unscented version?

Yes. We ship scented and unscented. Centers dealing with fragrance sensitivity, asthma plans, or parent questions usually choose unscented. Note it on the form and your quote comes back for that version.

How often should daycare playground turf be cleaned?

Roughly 500 sq ft per gallon on a routine maintenance pass, roughly 200 sq ft per gallon on heavy-use areas. Most centers run the whole yard on a set weekly or biweekly cadence and spot-treat in between. Maintenance passes need no rinse. Deep cleans get a hose-follow to drive it through every layer.

Will it damage our turf or void the installer's warranty?

We are not the warranty holder, so always check your manufacturer's maintenance guidance. That said, SYNLawn sells this formula under their own label as SYNLawn Cleaner-Deodorizer Powered by OxyTurf, and we manufacture the K9 Klean line for ForeverLawn. It contains no bleach, no ammonia, and no acid. Tell us your manufacturer and system and we will send what we have.

Do you work with multi-site operators and franchises?

Yes. Pricing is available to single centers and to operators running several sites, and we can hold one quote across your locations so each director orders at the same number. Note your site count in the form and we will send terms. If your group has a regional facilities or operations manager, put us in touch and we will set the number once so every site orders against it. The wholesale account application is the fastest way to start.

Which centers are using this?

Turf professionals and national turf brands have used this formula for years. Childcare is where we are putting it now, because directors have been stuck choosing between diluted bleach and dog-market enzyme products for a surface that needs neither. That is why we start every center the same way: a sample, the safety data, and one yard on the schedule for a month before you commit to anything.

Tell us about your center

Send us your center, your play yard size, and what you need. We reply within one business day with pricing, freight, and anything else you asked for. Pricing, samples, and safety documentation all start here.

No spam list. We use this to price your order and answer your questions, nothing else.
